Huron appoints Dr. Donna Kotsopoulos as new Dean to FASS February 27, 2017 Following an extensive nation-wide search, Huron University College is pleased to announce on behalf of the Executive Board, the appointment of Dr. Donna Kotsopoulos as Provost and Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Science (FASS), for a five year term, effective July 1, 2017. Dr. Kotsopoulos is a proven leader with a strong track record of significant accomplishments in strategic planning, governance, teaching, research, and remarkable outreach activities. Currently, Dr. Kotsopoulos is a Professor and Associate Dean in the Faculty of Education, cross appointed to the Department of Mathematics in the Faculty of Science at Wilfrid Laurier University. She is a former Associate Vice-President Research and Graduate Coordinator. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (York, Atkinson College), Bachelor of Education (York), Master of Education (Western), and a PhD in Educational Studies (Western). Dr. Kotsopoulos has participated extensively in collegial governance and strategic planning through her service and leadership as a member of the Board of Governors and Senate. While at Laurier, she was awarded the Hoffman-Little Award for Faculty for excellence in teaching, research, and professional endeavor. She was also recently awarded an OCUFA teaching award. In 2016, she was recognized for her outstanding research and outreach activities over her career with the national Partners In Research Mathematics Ambassador Award. Her research focuses on child development and organizational leadership and governance. Donna's research is currently funded by NSERC and SSHRC. Donna currently sits on the executive boards of the Senior Women Academic Administrators of Canada and the Association for Early Childhood Educators of Ontario.
