Building Civil Society Capacity for Poverty Reduction

The project aims to build the capacity of UDSM to develop stronger connections with civil society organizations (CSOs) in order to support and encourage their participation in policy making and monitoring processes for poverty reduction.
Tanzania is a bilingual Swahili and English country and in Swahili, the project name Haki Shiriki Katika Sera means the right to participate in policy. This right is recognized in the poverty reduction strategy of Tanzania. To fulfill this role and make an effective contribution, civil society must be able to analyze strategies and policies, access and share information and conduct policy dialogues.
