Deborah Lucas, Class of 2003
Event Marketing, Toronto
My line of work demands consistent organization, preparation and balancing many accounts. A liberal arts education at Huron, with its small classes and handling a multiple range of courses and workload, helped me prepare exceedingly well for the future.
Amanda deVogel, Class of 2003
International Banking, Oakville
My liberal arts education at Huron, with its intimate learning environment and quality of teaching staff, provided me with a broad intellectual foundation that has helped me adapt to professional challenges and demands. Huron also helped me build a strong network of friends who have helped me in my career successes.
Craig Shepherd, Class of 1992
Managing Director & General Counsel, Toronto
Huron gave me a broad framework for analyzing and organizing information. The building blocks of my Huron/UWO academic education were the foundation for further studies in Law (McGill University, LLB, 1996) and Business (Harvard University, MBA, 2002). Equally important was the vibrant extra-curricular life at Huron which helped to shape my team orientation, certain leadership skills and related attributes which are critical to success in any professional environment.
Small classes at Huron provided for a closer connection with senior faculty and, therefore, a more profound interest in learning. Small classes are also a lot more fun than giant lectures. When you put up your hand, you can expect to be called on and you get to know every student in your course.
Huron also provides access to the larger UWO offering from an inviting college platform. When you return to Huron from time at UWO, you will always see the friends you have made in the student body, on faculty and staff.
