Building Access
The main entrance to the Huron University College campus is wheelchair accessible. An information desk is situated immediately inside that entrance. Information desk staff can give detailed directions and provide access to the main door of the library via an elevator.

Retrieving Materials
Library staff will retrieve books or journals from the stacks for persons with disabilities. Please ask at the Circulation desk. If you would like to call or email your request ahead to the library, please provide the titles and call numbers of the books you need, and they will waiting at the circulation desk for you. This email service is only available from Monday to Friday.
Books can be renewed online. It is possible to ask for an extended loan when checking out materials, if more time is needed.
Copiers
If you have difficulty using the photocopiers, library staff will make copies for you at the regular cost of $.10 per page.
Assistive Technology
Huron University College Library offers assistive technology for students with disabilities. Located in the Access Room on the upper stack floor of the library there is a computer with a variety of assistive technology software programs, such as JAWS, Open Book, Kurzweil 3000, Dragon Naturally Speaking, Inspiration, etc as well as word processing software and internet connectivity.
The Access Room is available for booking during regular library hours to students registered with the Student Development Centre at Western and who have a current "Access" sticker on their UWO ID card. Students who do not have a current "Access", or who wish more information or a demonstration can contact Services for Students with Disabilities at the Student Development Centre at UWO
