Despite being awarded a scholarship that encouraged him to study out of town, Adam Fearnall chose to attend university at Huron in his hometown of London, Ontario. "I visited many schools, but I just didn't get the feeling I did when I was here," he says. "I knew this was the best place for me."
Now in his second year, Fearnall recalls once feeling apprehensive about the transition into university; but his concern was short-lived. "Huron is the most comfortable way to make the switch from high school to university," says Fearnall. "There are so many people looking out for you here. There is no way you'll fall through the cracks."
Fearnall feels that by staying in London and attending Huron he is experiencing the best of both worlds in two different senses. "Being from London and living in residence has its advantages; it's nice to be able to help other first year residents become familiar with the city." He also appreciates the double-advantage that an affiliated college has to offer. "You can take some courses at Western to experience the big campus, but have the Huron community to come home to at the end of the day," he says. "At Huron, you won't get lost in a sea of students."
