The smaller community offers bigger opportunities. (Anca Radu)

Anca Radu's interest in international studies led her to Huron, whose global studies program seemed most ideal to her ambitions. "Huron gives you the chance to grow," she says. "The smaller community offers bigger opportunities."

Radu has since become the local committee chair of WUSC (World University Service of Canada)'s student refugee program at Huron. "Every year the university sponsors a student refugee; because of Huron's financial support, I think we have one of the best student refugee programs in the country."

Radu is pursuing an Honors Specialization in Global Culture Studies to align with her future goal of working in international law. She appreciates Huron's small environment with regards to the fields she has chosen to study. "It might work to have larger class sizes in science courses, but I think it's important to have small classes in courses like global studies and political science--you need discussion."

Being a residence don at Huron has enhanced Radu's student experience. "You get to live and work with a lot of interesting people from different backgrounds," she says. "There are always people around and the residences feel full of energy."

"There are so many opportunities to get involved at Huron," says Radu. "If you want to do something and you work hard at it then you can achieve it."
