If you are applying from another accredited University, you must have your most up to date university transcript sent to the Huron Admissions Office when you have grades available. If you have attended university less than one full-year or if you have applied to the MOS program, we will also require your high school transcripts.
Transfer credit is reviewed when your final transcript is received. Please note that 10.0 credits or 2 full years of study is the maximum amount of coursework that can be transferred. Your course descriptions/syllabi may be required for review before credit can be granted especially for courses in math, English or science.
Admissions to Huron are completed on a rolling basis. This means that as soon as you have your documents to our office, we can consider your application. Usually it takes one to two weeks. Before we mail your admissions package, we will send you an email so that you know its coming.
Conditional offers of admission are normally sent after one term/semester or one and a half terms/semesters of university work. They are contingent upon the applicant meeting the following criteria:
a) successful completion of your current coursework;
b) maintaining a minimum final average as stated in the offer of admission letter.
Applicants who do not meet any one of these conditions will have their offer of admission rescinded. If there are extenuating circumstances that prevented you from meeting these requirements, contact our Admission Office after your final exams.
Official transcripts are those that are sent directly from your current university to Huron. In Ontario, transcripts can be sent between most universities electronically during the completion of the OUAC 105 application (Algoma and Laurentian excluded). From outside of Ontario, the university you are currently attending will have to send us a transcript in a sealed envelope.
Huron University College is an affiliate of The University of Western Ontario. This means that Huron students have access to all of the facilities, health services, libraries, academic services, athletics and clubs that are offered to Western students while still enjoying the close-knit living and learning environment offered by Huron. Huron students can take up to 2.0 courses every year at Western and can even complete a double major with a Huron program and a Western program. In the end, Huron students graduate with a degree from The University of Western Ontario with a Huron distinction.
The Management and Organizational Studies program has many first year requirements. If you are admissible and you've received more than 2.0 credits, you will be admitted to the Social Science program for your first year. During your first year, you can take the first year requirements that you do not have, and move into the MOS program in your second year as long as you maintain a 70% average here at Huron.
If your final grade falls below the minimum stated in the admission letter, your offer of admission will be rescinded. Please contact the admissions office if there are specific circumstances that caused your grades to fall.
If you fail a course, you will still have to maintain the average as outlined in your letter of admission. Please contact the Admissions Office as soon as possible if this is that case.
