Huron University College is pleased to offer all students access to career development services and resources. We are committed in engaging students in their career development by providing them with career development, career resources, and a network of employers, faculty, alumni, and other community members.

Our mandate is to:

  • Support students as they make employment connections or explore academic options

  • Prepare students to lead an effective and rewarding independent job search

  • Offer a wide variety of relevant and current electronic and print resources

  • Develop partnerships and connections with employers in various industries



  • Services:

    The Career Development services offered to students are:

  • One-on-one career and employment sessions to discuss: resume and cover letter review, job search action plan, networking and informational interviews, interviewing skills/practice interviews, networking/informational interviews.

  • Career development workshops and special events (business etiquette, networking, interviewing skills, and resumes/cover letters)

  • Resource library: books, magazines, handouts, and job postings

  • Personalized job search tools such as branded and personalized business cards and name tags





  • In addition, Huron University College students can access services at the The Student Success Centre.

    The Career Development services offered to employers are:

  • Free job posting service

  • Participation in workshops and special events

  • Biography:

    Maxine Dubuc is a career development professional with over three years of experience in law and business university career services offices. Having worked with thousands of undergraduate and graduate students at both the University of British Columbia and the University of Toronto, Maxine brings an expertise in what employers are looking for. Her areas of expertise are: resumes, job search, image and etiquette, interviewing, and e-networking. Outside of the office, Maxine enjoys reading, cooking, travelling, and participating in group fitness activities.
