M.Div./MTS Course Registration Details
Bachelor's Course Registration Instructions
Western's Academic Calendar and Academic Timetable are offered online only. Follow the instructions below to register for your courses. Refer to your paper Registration Guide (blue booklet for returning students, beige booklet for first-year students) for more detailed instructions.
Step 1: Using the online Academic Calendar, read course descriptions and program requirements to determine your desired courses. Use the online Fall/Winter 2011-12 Academic Timetable to determine the time and location of your desired courses.
Note: If a course is listed in the Academic Calendar but is not listed in the Academic Timetable, it is not being offered this year.
Step 2: Create a conflict-free timetable. Make sure no classes overlap and that you have the pre-requisites and are eligible for your desired courses. Remember, all full-time Huron students must take a minimum of 3.0 courses at Huron. First year students must attend a Transition Session to have their course selections signed off by an academic counsellor. A printable timetable planner is provided below.
Step 3: Ensure your UWO email account is active. If it is not active, retrieve your Access Code (aka PIN number) on the Student Services website. Click "Click Here for Access Code Retrieval" and follow the instructions to retrieve your Access Code. Return to the Student Services website and click "Don't know your Western Identity Password? CLICK HERE" to set your UWO email password.
Step 4: (for upper year students) Find your registration appointment date. Log in to studentservices.uwo.ca and follow the "My Possibilities" link to find your earliest web registration date.
Course selection dates are grouped by year in the following sequence:
Year 4 students - June 21st 9:30am to June 24th
Year 3 students - July 4th 9:30am to July 7th
Year 2 students - July 14th 9:30am to July 19th
Note: Year 1 students are not competing for the same courses as senior students; therefore they may select courses at any time during the enrollment period after they have received academic counselling during a transition session. The enrollment period for first-year students begins on June 20th at 9:30am.
Step 5: Web registration. Access the Student Centre and log in using your UWO email user name and password. Under the "Enrollment" heading, click the "Add a Class" link and follow the instructions to add your classes.
IF THERE IS AN ERROR:
1. Find out what the error means (it may just be a timetable conflict)
2. Check that you have the pre-requisites and that you do not have any anti-requisites
3. Check that you have entered the appropriate course, tutorial, and lab numbers
4. Look in the timetable -- is the course "restricted" or is "priority" given to a designated group of students
- to register for a "priority" course you must wait until July 26
- to register for a "restricted" course you must wait until the Add/Drop period
Regular registration will end on August 12th. The extended registration period will run fr om August 26th to September 14th at midnight.
