Huron Computer Lab

computing_1.jpgHuron's computer lab is part of the UWO public lab system. We provide all standard software packages plus some specialized software required by Huron's economics, psychology and language courses. Scanning is free in the Lab and printing is 10 cents a page or $1.00 for colour. We now have a double-sided printer that is 10 cents a page. Huron's Lab is fully staffed so there is always someone available to sort out software or printing problems. We have 41 computers with XP operating systems and one Mac Mini. Our version of Microsoft Office is 2007 but we can read all versions.

One side of the lab is occasionally closed off to accommodate classes requiring computer instruction.

Audio Visual equipment for classroom presentations can be signed out from the Computer Lab.

The computer lab is not officially open during the summer but if staff is in, they will give access.

Hours from September to April: Mon to Thurs 8:15am to 9:15pm, Fri 8:15am to 4:15pm
Closed Saturday and Sunday

Take a look at a video about the Media Pod here: Huron's Media Pod

In July, Huron University College acquired a new Media Pod, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure that we provide faculty, staff, and students with industry standard technological services.

The Pod, which can be found in W2 directly across from the Computer Lab, is comprised of several multi-media features, including: Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5, Adobe Photo Shop CS5.5, Adobe In Design CS5.5, Dream Weaver and Pro Tools 8.
