For London native Pooja Jain a campus tour at Huron University College changed all of her university plans. “When I visited the campus and I actually saw the classrooms and saw the atmosphere around the campus, I was impressed immediately and knew that Huron was definitely where I wanted to be.” Now in her 4th year, this Business major has found the learning environment and array of extracurricular opportunities to truly combine the best of both worlds.

In fact, Pooja has found that Huron’s modular programming and the flexibility in course offerings have enhanced her university experience. “Business courses give me a lot of practical knowledge and Global Studies courses increase my knowledge of world issues. I want to connect more with current affairs and everything that’s happening in the world right now. How these factors interact is all so fascinating to me.” She goes on to say that, “I just feel like I have a responsibility to give back and these courses have definitely brought out that part of me that I feel is important.”

Along with her in-class pursuits, Jain has taken advantage of the Huron and Western club systems. An executive on UWO’s Table Tennis Club, a member of EnviroWestern, and a 2nd year Environmental Commissioner on the Huron University College Students’ Council, Jain views her role as a Don in the O’Neill-Ridley residence as the most memorable part of her time thus far at Huron. Jain comments that “This has been the best experience I’ve had; not only have I developed good relationships with my teammates but it’s helped me interact with 1st years and see their experience from a different perspective.”
